¡Hola! My name is Maria. I was born in Mexico and at age 18, I was able to make the move and call Minnesota my new home. I have been a proud resident of Minnesota for a little under 25 years. (The winters are rough but I love it here!) I love to cook, sing, dance, and most of all, I love taking care of children. I have 6 wonderful children ranging in ages from 29 to 12. I always knew I wanted a big family and I have been so blessed.

I opened up Paraiso Español because speaking a second language is really important to many more parents now than compared to ever. Our curriculum is straightforward and immersion is a really neat way for children to develop a second language skill without thinking too much about it. The day is conducted in Spanish and consists on emphasis on daily vocab, mathematics (counting) as well as reading. With this layout, children interact with Spanish by listening (Auditory practice), writing, and by speaking it.

Health & Safety

COVID-19 has absolutely changed the way we look at the world and we understand there are some parents whom may be concerned for the safety of their children. This is completely understandable. At Paraiso Español, we are ensuring safe practices by continuous disinfecting and cleaning of surfaces. We encourage hand washing for the children as often as it is plausible.

We do not require masks to be worn by the children, however, we encourage parents to provide masks for their child or to direct their child to wear a mask while in care if they believe that to be the right course of action. We do not allow infants or toddlers to wear masks as this practice goes directly against the Minnnesota Department of Health's directive that states children below the age of 2 should not wear a face covering.
